Antarctic Plant Life
Trees don't grow on any of the poles. Roots simply can't grow in ice, or anywhere without soil and fresh water.
Antarctica has hardly any plant life. There are only two types of flowering plants that survive. Mosses and lichen make up most of the plant life. In fact, less than 1% of Earth's plants reside here. They survive the same way Arcitc plants do. They grow close to the ground, and are dark in color to attract sun.
