Arctic Plant Life
The Arctic has the ability to harbour more plant life, because of it's less harsh temperatures. Some mosses and lichen are shown above.
The Arctic has over 100 species of flowering plants. They all grow close to the ground, where they can absorb heat from the earth. They have fuzzy coverings on the stems and leaves to protect them from the wind. All species flower quickly because of the short growing seasons.
